Participants are invited to attend this information session presented by the Workers’ Health and Safety Legal Clinic.
During this workshop, participants will learn:
- About Legal Aid Ontario and how to access free legal services;
- About employment agreements (written vs. verbal employment contracts) and how to identify potential job scams;
- Basic employment standards under the Employment Standards Act (ESA), such as minimum wage, paid public holidays, personal emergency leave, hours of work, rest periods, overtime pay, meal - breaks, scheduling rules, termination notice/pay, vacation time/pay, pregnancy and parental leave, etc.;
- How to raise their rights under the ESA; and,
- How to access clear and reliable legal information and resources on a variety of other legal topics.
